Oedipus Rex
Fate is unavoidable and predetermines the actions and life that people will do and have. Free will is the voluntary decision that people take over their lives. Fate and free will are connected to each other. Even though one has the liberty of choosing his or her own free will, fate cannot be avoided. Fate in our lives will occur without choice. The actions of free will can ironically lead to ones fate. This is what happens in a play by Sophocles. The theme, free will vs. fate in Oedipus Rex proves that even though one has the ability to make decisicions, what is predestined will happen.
